Raised in Memphis, and having performed in countless venues all over the United States, J. J. cut his rock and blues drums teeth on Beale Street and in joints all over north Mississippi during the 70s and 80s.
Career highlights include stints with Jerry Lee Lewis and impromptu gigs and sit-ins with Hall and Oates, Bobby Whitlock and many other artists stopping in the Bluff City.
